But are there really blue olives?

Hi folks.

Treatment #16 took place uneventfully enough today. A cold day it was too, as they’ve all been lately. Maggie and I finally broke down and bought ourselves new winter coats…hoods, down lining, the works. I’m sure I could build an igloo wearing my new Arctic Zero. Winter, bring it on!

Tonight is Mike Biggar’s Christmas CD release show at the Blue Olive, a curiously named eatery that we’ve not yet experienced but are mere hours away from so doing. Mike has assembled a house band and will perform the entire CD, as well as having guest appearances by local talents Rik Reese, Stephanie Mainville, Dann Downes and Mike’s wife Laura, a wonderful artist in her own right. She’s written a song called “Treasures” which she’ll be performing; it promises to be a highlight. I went to a rehearsal at Mike’s house last night and I’m predicting an excellent show. I’m proud of the two songs Mike and I wrote, and along with Laura’s original and others by Dann, Rik and Stephanie, this night offers musical tribute to Christmas Future as well as paying homage to many of the well-loved standards. The arrangements of “Little Drummer Boy,” “O Holy Night,” “Go Tell It On The Mountain” and “Angels We Have Heard On High,” to name a few, are outstanding.

Samples of all the songs can be heard and CDs can be purchased at Mike’s website

Wish you could all be there tonight!
